Prep Your Skin for Winter

Winter is here for the next few months which means inevitably  moisture is harder to keep in your skin! As you know, we are in Colorado so it’s an issue we deal with for about four months out of the year. There are a few simple tips you can do to prep your skin for winter, whether you also live in a winter climate or are planning a trip to the snow!

  1. Moisturize! Make sure to use a moisturizer daily, when you wake up and when you go to sleep. We love the WIPEYS Face wipes - which are filled with hydrating and moisturizing ingredients, to use after a workout, after a day out on the slopes, or to refresh our faces when we wake up!

  2. Exfoliate! Exfoliate and wash away dead skin cells for a brighter complexion, and for the absorption of your moisturizer, which would otherwise be blocked from said dead skin cells.

  3. Eye Cream! It is so important to keep you under eyes hydrated each day - eye skin is crazy thin, so it takes a major beating when the weather gets harsh. We love the Indie Lee I-Waken Eye Serum!

  4. Invest in a facial steamer! ESPECIALLY if you are in a dryer climate, having a facial steamer helps add extra moisture to your skin. We love the Vanity Planet one! It’s great to use before you go to bed to lock in moisture while you sleep.

  5. Limit the use of hot water. Hot water, especially long baths, actually take our moisture from your skin. Try to take cooler showers, or shorter baths, and wash your face with cold water.
